Beater bikes thread...

ok the name says it all, this thread is to post pics of your "beater" bikes. Maybe a bike you just have around to run errands or ride in the not-so-nice weather. Maybe its a nice bike, maybe its an old beat up mountain bike from wal-mart or sears or the like. Doesnt matter I just thought it would be fun!

Ill start with my old Schwinn woodlands mtb that i bought for $30 and have re-painted frame and fixed up a little, including some Planet Bike hardcore fenders :)

My old Huffy Mt. Storm, near as I can figure it was made around 1989, given to me for nothing by a friend and at the moment needs the pedal crank replaced, I managed to snap the spur off the right side crank.

'90 (?) Specialized Hard Rock. Bought it at a yard sale for $40, installed an old set of drop bars and RSX brifters. It's my kid-trailer-hauler and grocery-getter.

This is our neighborhood cruiser. It rides great. God help ya if need to go up a hill though...And the coaster brakes are'nt that great either. I'm thinking about finding a trailer for it to haul the cooler in..

I'm in!:D This one rides in the back of my work truck. Depending on the situation it is either my dingy or my life boat:p 1972 Raleigh Sports Standard that I purchased for $25 in 1981 as a last ditch transportation alternative. It has seen over 32,000 miles of regular commuting/car free living for me and my brother. It was just revived from a 10 year storage hiatus. New tires, a new rim strip, brake pads and light cleaning and it was ready to hit the road again.

Aaron:)
