ID Frame Maker: Hearts on Downtube

Which manufacturer puts little embossed hearts on the bottom of the downtube?

I swear I've seen a pic of these somewhere online (probably here), but I can't find it.

Thanks

I've got one, a 1977 C.Itoh (Bridgestone/Kabuki). It keeps the clamped cable stop from sliding down. I'd be surprised if it's uncommon on bikes without cable bosses.

It was a common design to have a little 'heart shaped' braze-on to keep the clamp-on DT shifters from going anywhere. My 1979 Nishiki Pro has such a detail.

On the underside of the downtube in 2 spots; maybe 4 inches from the head tube, and maybe 3 inches from the BB.

The hearts themselves feel like bumps on the tube, and then there are 2 dots (which are indentations) on each heart, 1 on each half of the heart.

Here's a picture. You can see the cuts in the paint where the clamp used to be.

edit: specifically, this bike had stem shifters, and a clamped cable stop at the heart.

So CG05, if that's what you've got, yup, it's for the DT shifters.

Thanks, East Hill, that's what I've got on my bike. But it sounds like those are fairly common, and don't signify a specific manufacturer. Oh well.
