My blood pressure went down and it was starting to get borderline, high blood pressure runs in the family. Oddly enough I need less sleep, since I started cycling, doesn't really make sense to me but I notice I sleep more when I take a couple weeks off. I am typically in a better mood, I know that mental not physical but aren't they connected.

Edit: Funny tan lines.

i'll give you two off the top of my head: it helps me keep the weight down and it helps keep my heart muscle strong. I'm sure there are tons of other benefits.

I've got a bad back and ride very upright, like Mary Poppins.
I ride a lot more in warm weather and notice my back bothers me less then.
I attribute that to having better muscle tone in my upper legs/hips, helping to "support" my back better.

In terms of your inquiry [physically] top o' the heap. . .weight management. However, the best benefit is mental.

The other night my wife commented that I have the legs of a 20 yo and I over 50yo. No, she didn’t add that she wished that the rest of me looked as good. LOL

without a doubt, i'm less fatigued, feel and look stronger, i sleep better, i stay hydrated and more alert since i started riding daily. if i go more than about 4 days without a ride, i can tell a big difference in how i feel. generally my moods are more stable, it helps me deal with stress, etc. i'm definitely a happier person since i've started riding.

Just once.... and I think moron was implied.
Heck, I can't even remember all my arguments with various members. It seems I have one once a week or so.

Either that or lima bean is amazingly fit.

....or needs to ride longer and throw in a few intervals.
I would suggest a couple pyramid intervals. Oh my goodness my legs hate me.

My eye doctor had me taking drops every night to reduce interocular pressures to stave off glaucoma. He took me off of them for a few months so I would not develop an immunity to them. In the meanwhile I started cycling again. He has not put me back on the drops because my pressures are now good. He told me to keep up my cycling. Anything that helps the circulation helps eye health.

Oh, my resting heart rate and my blood pressure are much improved. And, I have lost weight in addition to growing stronger, needing fewer naps, and having more endurance.
