Okay the weight team option is back... In my haste to try and fix the avg speed issue I over wrote some code... Everything is back and working great (have to love backups).

A normal training year I'd be putting on the miles big time for some road racing, but this year with our first baby coming I think I'm going to keep it low key. Doing a 12 hour mtn bike race in WI in May, a half marathon... and then maybe some time trial in the mid summer. Then everything stops in July.

Everyone get ready for www.activepotty.org... A free website that allows you to track your babies diaper usage!!!

Who are all the guys that have logged up 1,000 miles already this year?.

Thats impressive!.

I`m getting there (gradually) but I need.

1. More riding time...
2. Warmer and dryer weather...
3. Higher motivation....

Nice miles everyone, I really like the activebody site. As has been said before, it's a lot of fun to compare yourself to other riders. Keep up the great work everybody. And thanks for creating such a great website Clint!

Yep it's been fun. Between you guys and the old man who's been coaching me I'm not sure if I'll survive until summer!

I see that I have the lowest average speed on Activebody.

It must be because the tank I ride for a commuter bike.

Everyone has my appologies for brining down the overall average.

Well,I reckon there are quite a few of us with low average mileage output, especially in the freezer zones..

Mine is on the low side also. but heck my Winter beater is not built for speed, I`m happy just to build up a decent mileage with my commuting, twice weekly shopping trips into town, (really slow rides, tootling between shops and malls) and recreation rides. picking out particularly hilly routes to sustain my leg strenght.....

I will leave it to the road bike season to pick up my average ride times....

I think mine's almost the opposite to yours, willic. My average started the year high (well, at least high for me ) when I was only really getting out on the roadie on the weekends. I find I don't really enjoy getting out when the temps are below freezing - maybe next year when I have more money to spend on some warmer clothing. Now that I'm back into the swing of commuting a bit more, I expect the average will start to fall through the floor! Even more so when the ski season is over and the MTBing starts...

If I do a longer ride (> 10-15 miles), it'll always include some serious climbing, given the topography of the East Bay, which drops my mph, too.

I think the mileage that we have logged as a team is awesome. Average speed doesn't mean much, it doesn't show effort or difficulty so it really doesn't mean much. The main thing is that we're all out there riding and having a good time. Keep it up!

Yep, very good mileage. I'm so tired of getting dressed up like an Eskimo every time I ride though. Can't wait to get to wear shorts and a T shirt for a ride.

I sure hope nobody starts worrying about averages, I know I'm not and it's a good thing, mine looks terrible. About 40% of my miles so far are MTB, and after March 28 I'll probably be out of the running in the miles category since that will probably be more like 80%. I'm still trying to drum up interest for an offroad miles (or something along those lines) challenge if anyone's interested, Clint said we could do one like that by entering the type of ride to seperate the road from MTB miles...

Hey everyone,

Thought I would check in... I'm off to PHP training all next week but will have limited email and small amount of web options.

Keep up all the great miles and start thinking about hosting "ActiveBody Rides" in your home town. I'd like to start bringing people together if more then one user is in the same town... invite non activebody users to ride and then get them to sign up (and join a new team)!

Use the forums to find people!

GO!

Well, this is weird. I found the ActiveBody.org link in a completely different thread, went and created a team for me and my wife to keep track of our progress, then discovered the BikeForum team - and joined that.

Then, I found this thread. I hope I joined the correct team, and I really hope I don't bring the team average down too bad.

I'll try to hold up my end.

The BikeForum Team has 27 riders. Is that the one you joined?

There were two teams at one time, but I think that most have joined the team with the 27.

It looks like he joined "Team BF" which has 9 members. There is also a "Bike Forums" team which now has 27. I think both are using the same password.

Actually, there are (were) three teams, two regular ones and the "fat" team, of which I am the starter of record, and the password is "fat".
