what will you do to get to your bike?
Well, the hubby took off for a weekend of drag racing up north and as luck would have it he also took with him the spare garage keys. Mine were in the cupholder of my car. In the garage. duh. All I could do was press my nose to the glass and stare at my bike, and it was driving me crazy. Well, I had to rig up a rotten old wooden ladder so that the steps would not snap when I used them(the good ladder also being locked inside the garage), run the risk of severing an artery on the sheet of tin around the window, tear the house apart in search of my swiss army knife with its phillips head screwdriver with which to dismantle the pipe chimney on the gas furnace and then slither through a window while praying the neighbors that drove past didn't mistake me for a catburglar and notify Officer Obie.
It took a few hours to achieve but in the end I enjoyed one heckuva lovely ride. What would it take to keep you off your bike? |
Nothing
 Good for you! Now keep a spare set of keys in your pocket. Why is it than women don't like pockets? Joe |
hmmm...wasn't aware of my aversion to pockets.
But I do hate purses. How unladylike! |
Hmmm, before I'd do that, I'd just go to the gym and hit the exercise bikes.
But one time, I waited for 3 hours for my neighbor to get home, because Fed- Hex left the box with my new Look pedals at his house, and I had to leave for a ride in the next state. |
Just goes to prove that locks are only for honest people!:D
I know how to replace broken windows BTW! |
Hide a spare key to the house/garage outside somewhere (not somewhere obvious). They sell various items to store the key in - vinyl pouches, magnetic boxes, fake rocks, etc. Then you'll never be locked out again (just remember to put the key back if you use it!).

Hey! I have one of those magnetic boxes hidden from even my wife and children! This way I don't have to replace windows!;)
|
Nothing- I'd just go back to bed and enjoy my rest day!
Good for you to stay persistent, though! Koffee |
psycholist- good work.
I keep some climbing gear upstairs and so would probably use it to break in. I have a history of breaking into my own house. Good work on your break-in for a worthy cause. /Duncan |
I'm not sure how far I'd go to break in and get my bike, but you should give your hubby a call and tell him thanx for f*n up your weekend. :D just kidding . You'll figure something out i hope!
|
I'd do whatever it takes. Seems like you did so. :D

I would have done the same thing. If I can see my bike - I can ride my bike. No garage, or window will stand in my way! :D
