What to name it other than Magic Wheel?

They look so cool on the Youtube clips.

Start with the one on their homepage.

Totally new gadget to me. And I feel so happy and
at same time so embarrassed.

Magic Wheel is such a simple idea so why didn't
I came up with it cause me want something very
small that would be easy to use when one need
to go the the bus or train and to take it with me
when bikes are not allowed.

I have bought a Rollator. Those are allowed but not
practical if you want to roll instead of walk.

So maybe one could combine the Rollator with the
MagicWheel so one have a merge that works like both?

The good thing about a Rollator is that they are allowed everywhere

while a Longboard or inline skates are not allowed in public transport
due to the risk for accidents.

so I need to find something that works for me.

One poster ask me if I could spell to Spam.

I talk about this cause I need something that works

Ok, me read all of the 4 pages you linked to and
they only make fun of it. That is ok too it is fun
to have fun but they don't take it seriously.

I've been looking for something that works
on a crowded bus and train here locally for
years and did any of them in that thread
take it seriously?

So this was not a repost in that sense.
I wanted a serious discussion about it.

What is needed to make it useful for us
who are not LongBoard or not Inline Skaters
and who need something allowed in such hour.

and as something I could use when bikes are too big or forbidden.

That is what I have now but that one fail to roll. You have to walk
to get it rolling. Ok you could sit and roll backwards. Not practical.

The Magic Wheel roll too good. The only way to stop it is to jump off.
No brakes. It used to have brakes but they skipped it.

The other problem with the Magic Wheels are that they are very
prone to accident if your not good at keeping balance.

So I got interested in this gadget cause maybe it is possible to merge them.

If you look at the Rollator I link to. which I own one of too.

They are rather similar.
Magic Wheel:
One fixed wheel followed by a coaster wheel.

Rollator:
One coaster wheel followed by a fixed wheel.

You have only to rebuild the Rollator so the
rear wheel is on front and the coaster as rear.

So when unfolded it function as Rollator and
when folded it could be scoot or pushed or kicked
in same way as the Magic Wheel.


Bus, Train, Subway, Underground, Mall, Shops and so on.
All of these allow a Rollator. So unfolded it would be legal
and everybody would be happy. Outside when I'm in a hurry
to catch that train or bus I fold it and stand on the footplates
and hold my hands on the handles and kick to my hearts delight
and I would use real drumbrakes on the fixed wheels so I feel safe.

No, Weakling is serious. He has had difficulties with the Strida, and is truly looking for something which is foldable, and capable of being taken on a train.

Yes I have read that thread. Great fun, they love to mock the inventor.
I like to laugh too but with people and not at them. Such makes me feel
sick. To close to bullying for me.

I think the creative imagination of the inventor should be praised instead of mocked.

but to each their own. Could not they have fun in that thread and me be serious
in this thread? It is obvious the purpose of their thread is very much just for fun.

What was wrong with the Strida? Have you written off all folding bikes?
What about something that's easier to control than the MagicWheel, like a Razor scooter or something?

Yes, you are right. I read about the Strida and I read about kick bikes too
but when I tried them out the embarrassing thing got obvious.
You need to be good at balance to master a Strida. Everybody fail to trust
that I fail to ride it cause they compare with their own ability to ride it.

Ok it is very individual. Strida say it take 10 seconds or at most 15 seconds
and the body knows how to keep it going. Some worst cases takes at most
some minutes they write and if you fail they have a 60 days guarantee you
get all your money back.

Well I tried both Strida I the Mark Sanders original version and the modded
Steedman version Strida III or 3.2 as some name it. I failed on both.

Strida I was most difficult so I fell every time me tried. Again and again.
Strida III I never fell so it is much easier to master but during the two
minutes me had to test it at the shop I never felt confident me would
relly learn it ever.

I have used bikes for some 60 years and many different bikes too.
Big 28" regular bikes to the small folder Microbike with 12" wheels.

So I have had no problems with them. So this Strida thing was a big
surprise to me too. And the funny thing is that none trust me.

Give it a chance buy one and you will master it sooner or later they suggests.


I tested Xootr like kick bikes too but I am bad at it. 4 wheels kick scooters works.
But they are too big and heavy. But they are very good when the streets are
very icy and snowy and slippery.

Brompton is very popular here in Sweden. Have you seen the youtube video on how to use the Brompton as a trolley? Looks cool.

I have to test it next time me have a chance. The Old Town Bike Shop
is a good source for us who wants one.

I like the Mobiky too. do you know if any of these are difficult to ride?

I go shopping with my brompton all the time.

ride to store with brompton bag attached

arrive, fold up bike, tow bike in store like a cart

fill up bag, pay for items, leave

unfold the bike (the bag stays upright and nothing falls out) and ride away

this is a 20 mile round trip and I love it

I saw the earlier link, and don't really see how the things are better than roller blades.

there are rollerblades with bigger wheels. but the comfort
with a pneumatic 26" wheel has to be much better than
to small four inline skates we have here. I've seen none
using the blades with one big wheel and one a bit smaller
who both are at 45 degree angle to ground.

I have not tried any of these. I tried to learn skating
on ice during my youth and was very bad at it.

Skates you have to put them on foot. When you arrive
to the bus you have to compete with people on rubber shoes
or take them off. And I doubt it is allowed to have skates on
you in our Underground/Subway.

My vision or dream is that one could transform the toy
Magic Wheels and combine it with the legal Rollator
into a Kick Rollator that is Magic Wheel with handle bars
folded one way and if you turn it 180 degrees and unfold it
it becomes a legal Rollator with the Magic part hidden.

the Magic Wheel could be under the seat of the rollator
and when one fold the rollator the big Magic Wheels goes
down on the ground and the Rollator wheels goes up so
it acts as a transformer gadget.

Rollators have handle bars so us who are not good at
balance have something to lean on and that comes in
handy in my vision of a combined kicking and rolling thing.

The MW is for you who are adventures while the Rollator
is for us who take it easy with such bold things so a
combination would make the MW Rollator a safer thing to use
and even more practical cause unlike the MW the Rollator are
allowed all over the traffic area.
And in shops too. And Rollator practical on icy streets.

If one look at a Rollator and the Magic Wheel they are
180 degree in direction. Rollator have the coaster wheel
in front while the Magic Wheel has it in rear. So it should
be just some innovative thought needed to combine them.
