In there or strapped to the rack itself with velcro. Also in my backpack sometimes. Just depends on where, how far/long and what else I am carrying.

The Onguard Pitbull mini LS fits the above trunk perfectly. The lock came with a bracket, just never had a reason to put it on.

Basically wherever on the frame it is going to fit and not get in the way. I threw mine out and simply wrap the cable around the seat post. It makes it a bit more difficult to take the lock on and off the bike but then I don't need to mess with the bracket.

In your case you have a u-lock so worse case it is going to rattle around a bit without the bracket, if on the seat post.

Come on now do you spell that way or is it your idea of what you thick is cool?

Didn't I read some place where someone used the u-lock to mount a bag or some other piece of equipment?

There's the problem! :D

Okay, honestly its probably best in the frame if you have no rack because of the conveniently low consequence of having the weight in that location. A frame bag can be had for $15, and its useful for more than just a lock. Or, you could get some velcro.

Mini's and the like just put it in your back pocket.
