Do you want to keep your job? Many shop owners frown on employees revealing the dealer's cost.

Dan's right.
A good rule of thumb is retail (for about any good) is 100% more than wholesale.
Most retailers do not give their employees a 50% discount.

As a general rule shop employees are eligible for "EP" prices that are generally around 15% BELOW wholesale. It's one of the biggest factors that makes working in a bike shop worth it.

I thought that wholesale prices were the same for everybody, not something that was negotiated between retailer and wholesaler. It was an honest mistake. Thanks for the positive advice.
