Campy Weight Limit?
Is there any truth to the statement that Campy components are not recommended for use by people over 180lbs? I am assuming this means Cranks and BBs.

Their wheels have a warning to be specially "vigilant" if you are over 82kg/180 lbs.
The stresses on cranks/bb's are more dependent on strength than weight and many of the strongest riders in the world ride Campy.

I use Campy Record on my bike and my wheels are Record hubs with Mavic hoops. I'm 225 and have had no problems.

I believe that the warranty states that their components are designed for a 76kg rider and are intended for use on a track or smooth pavement.

There is a caution in the manuals for some components to be especially vigilant if over 82kg (stating the need to have your components inspected more often than someone who weighs less than 82 kg).
The manuals for some components also list intended use as smooth pavement or track and the constraint that it should not be used off-road or on trails. If you go mountain biking on your Campy equipped road bike and break something don't expect it to be covered under warranty - otherwise no worries.

I run full Campy--including wheels--on both my road AND CX bike with no concerns. And I'm a clyde. No worries.
