Gary Fisher Wingra

Anyone know how the Gary Fisher Wingra compares to the Trek fx series? I test rode a (small) 7.2fx, and the Gary Fisher Wingra today and liked both. I really liked the Gary Fisher, but It had a "flat" frame which the salesman told me was made to get more force transferred to get the bike moving. Is this a good bike? Any suggestions?

Ok I bought this bike in like April. I am now looking at road bikes. Just get a road bike. I never knew how much faster they were.

Ha ha. I came to that same conclusion myself after buying a hybrid. Took me a year.

I got a Wingra about 2 months ago. I just rode my 400th mile tonight on the way home.

That's 400 miles of excercise (or about 36 hours) of excercise I wouldn't have otherwise had, so therefore it's a very good thing.

I've put fenders on it, and a rack will be going on it over the next couple of days. I don't drive (never have), so I need my bike to sort of be a pack horse for grocery shopping and stuff.

I'll be buying a road bike before too long for the fun rides on weekends.

I think when I looked over the geometries a week or so ago, that the Wingra looked like it will handle a bit quicker than most hybrids including the Trek. I don't mind hybrids, especially if the big 700x38c comfort tires have been swapped out for something semi high end like Vittoria Randonneur Pro 700x32c's. I'm actually converting my old Bianchi hybrid to a dedicated mud tire/studded tire cross bike for the winter. However, I own five bikes and there is race bike in the stable for the longer weekend outings.
