I have ridden for a few teams over the last few years and have been given cheap glasses to ride and none of them compare to Oakleys in terms of comfort and durability.

So if you can stretch to Oakley or Rudy its worth paying the bit extra as they last longer.

I can't use most cheap sunglasses, my head is too big. Actually, I can't use many of the more expenive glasses either.

After shopping around, I am wearing Native Dash XP's with interchangeable lenses (clear, amber and brown polarized). I use all of the lenses at least once a week. I think I paid about $120 for them locally.
The best part is that they are comfy and don't irritate me ears nose or, most importantly, temples even after 12 hours of wear.

You guys are gonna poopee your pants when I tell you how much I paid for my Oakley M Frames.

Ok:

- set of dark Rx lenses with nose piece
- set of amber Rx lenses with nose piece
- the frame
- extra nose piece
- carrying case

Sit down, hold on, make sure your sphincter is firmly shut.......$800 (Cdn)

For me one important difference is Rx inserts. Often cheap glasses don't offer such options.

For everyday use there isn't much difference but when you start thinking about how you would use them- riding, hiking etc then it would matter also my mom has very sensitive eyes and has found $20 glasses that work great for her and $250 glasses that work as well. You should look for performance and reviews not name brands and prices.

I dont have cash to drop on sunglasses. The home depot safety sunglasses work great for me. I have had to tighten one screw once in a month of commuting. They aint stylish, but I can still see after not ducking fast enough to miss a small tree branch on my commute. For what its worth
