Hi all,
I am looking to buy a bike at the moment - mainly for city commuting but also as I need to get some cycling exercise for my (bad) knee.
I am looking at the three bikes below at the moment:
1. Ndcent 26" Mountain/Trials/Jump Bike
2. Sabre Full Susp Dual DISCS Mountain Bike
3. VISP RACER PRO 05

I do not have any knowledge of what is or is not a good bike. Could anyone please advise as to what i should be roughly paying for any of the above and which bike would be the best option?

How much are you willing to spend and how do you ride/plan to ride?

I forgot to ask, Where do you plan on riding? Like dirt trails, packed dirt, or paved roads?

i am hoping to get a decent bike for cycling to work and in and around the city so it would be for road usage. i am not looking for a bike for anything beyond that really so am not looking to spend big money or anything on this.
i believe i am getting a decent price on the three bikes mentioned so i was looking for advice as to which would be better?

Well, judging from the names, two of the bikes appear to be appropriate for BMX type racing on dirt jumps, with dual suspension, balloon tyres and heavy frames. A worse choice for an inexpensive daily commute on smooth roads is hard to imagine. Get a hybrid or flat bar road bike instead, or better still, go second hand.

To buy a decent road-worthy bike, plan to spend about $400. That's a rough number. From my limited experience, mountain-style bikes are require less maintenance than road bikes.

I would highly recommend you spend a little more and go to a bike shop to get a good quality bike. But if you are set on getting one of those three I would go with the Visp Racer. Of the three it is the one that doesn't look like it is trying to be something its not. It looks like it would be a good commuter and good to ride around the neighborhood for fun.
