Cyclometer info

I have a cyclometer that has a built in HR monitor. It will display the number of calories I have burned based on my age and weight. How accurate are these? Also, it displays grams of fat. Does this mean actual grams of fat, ie, 16 grams of fat = 1 pound?

Funny side note, when I place the computer on the dash of my car it recieves a speed input from my car and will display my speed as I am driving! I wondered why my max speed was 76 mph!

Since when does 16 grams equal a pound?
From my high school days I seem to remember that roughly 23 grams are in an oz.

I don't think it's really getting a signal from your car, but wireless computers are subject to interference that can make them display randomly.

If he has antilock brakes on it, there is a very good chance he is getting signals from his car. They use no more than a magnet and a sensor for input.

Yeah, I meant the 23gram to 1 oz. I just typed faster than I thought! I was thinking ounces.

No, he's getting interference from his car. And this would be a wireless computer, which uses some RF receiver for input.

Out fishing with Annie on his lap, a cigar in one hand and a ginger ale in the other, watching the sunset.

Actually, it's 28 grams /oz.
