Trek 7100 or 7500?

Well, I was going to get a cruiser, but thought that it wouldn't be practical enough, so now I am looking at either purchasing the 7100 or the 7500. My fiancee are going to be riding these bikes along light dirt trails and around town (probably 1-2 times per week during the nice weather). I test rode both bikes and really liked how the 7500 felt (brakes, shifting, and the seat). However, I am not sure if I can justify the extra $500-....the bike might be overkill for me (even the salesperson said so). Any thoughts on this out there?

The 7500 has goofy specs. It undoubtably shifts better and has a better seat, but you are also paying too much for other features that will not be of much use to you. I don't think its a good value.

Thanks, I was thinking the same thing. I am going to pick up the 7100 then. While the 7500 is a very nice bike, it just isn't worth the additional 550+ that I would have to pay.

have fun. ride lots.

btw, if you do start to ride farther and more often....you won't be looking at upgrading to a 7500 anyway.
