Get money by doing online surveys

Ok, yet another way of earning some side money, especially in the holiday season!

It's yet another Fox news tidbit they gave us with Dr. Jay, moneyman. He's pretty good.

With the online surveys, you complete surveys and get paid in cash. Some offer coupons for cash too, and some enter you in sweepstakes for completing shorter surveys. From the looks of it and from what Dr. Jay said, if you do the longer surveys, you get paid in cash. You will need at least a paypal account, so if you don't have paypal, log onto www.paypal.com and open an account with them. In all cases, you will need to join the website membership online, which is free, then fill out a short survey about yourself, then you can start doing the surveys they send over to you. Read the details on how each of the websites will pay you. I know they are legit- I checked them out before I posted. I know folks would be upset if I gave out bad links!

Here are the online survey companies (so far):

www.surveysavvy.com
www.gozingsurveys.com
www.acop.com

For some reason, I put a star next to the gozingsurveys.com, so that must mean that either they pay a little more, or they only pay you in cash- I know they pay through paypal, so you'll not worry about some silly reimbursement program where they pay in potatoes and bath slippers or some silly crap like that.

In all cases, YOU DO NOT PAY TO PARTICIPATE IN THESE SURVEYS! Dr. Jay was saying that if you have to pay to participate in an online survey, then it's not legit or worth it, so skip it. In these other three websites I included, you don't pay a dime, just join their membership and fill out the questionnaire, then complete the surveys as they are sent to you in a timely manner. Then you just put in your request for payment and then get paid!

All right, if I see anymore, I'll update.

Koffee

P.S. FoxChicago morning news is da bomb! They are always giving out great info like that we can use.

What these sites are really doing is mining info, then selling it to spammers. Like I need more spam......

No thanks, I'll pass. I'll mention this to you in exactly 8 weeks-we'll see what your take on it is then.

(BTW, Fox news is a bunch of ninnies.)

No- Dr. Jay checked. They do not spam you with info. But hey, it's all your opinion. Do the surveys, don't do the surveys. I'll take my chances and let you know in a few months if I get spammed to death. I'll create a new account with yahoo and see what happens. They brought up the issue of spamming in the news report when they gave out this info, dood.

Perhaps it's just coincidence, but within 1 minute of checking out one of your links, I got this little piece of spam:

Your opinion is worth money. There are hundreds of companies out there who are willing to pay for it.

Like most of us, I receive my share of spam, but I've never received spam of this (survey/opinion) variety before. I think your boy Dr. Jay may be wrong - or, it's an amazing coincidence.

I swear, I checked all the links, and so far, I haven't received anything out of the ordinary usual spam... but I'll check into it. I'll drop Dr. Jay an email and point him towards your post.

Yeah-and they also get you to authorize having telemarketers call you. Since that national 'do-not-call' registry has gone into effect, the industry is getting desperate for ways around it-this is one of them.

FWIW, I wouldn't believe a single thing from Fox news. Those people are charlatains. We used to have a good newscast here on the local fox station, until the national dorks took it over. Now we have on anchor-babe who can't even pronounce half the local towns correctly (or even easy world locations such as "Mosul", either), an out-of-town meterologist piped in from 400 miles away, and a nation 'news desk' anchored by "Mr. Hairspray". Last night, they actually spent 7 minutes on the evening news on a story informing people ---(get ready for this)---how to drive on snow. Whoppee.

(Oh, BTW, I'm just trembling that you've sent the link to this "Dr" Jay. Incidentally, isn't this breaking the forum guidelines?

I'd think that this should be moved to "foo", since it has absolutely nothing to do with cycling.

Dave,

I am unsure where your hostility comes from, especially as I do not know you. So please refrain from using nasty tones with me.

As far as whatever your views are with Fox, if you have problems with them, contact them. I really couldn't care less what your newscasters look or sound like, and your descriptions of what your newscasters sound like have nothing to do with the thread or the post.

The topic of this thread does have NOTHING to do with cycling... but HOT DEALS is not necessarily a CYCLING forum. I think you are confused about this. Please take the time to read through this link for the definitions of each of the forums: https://www.bikeforums.net/ and understand the difference between what "Foo" is and what "Hot Deals" are. This is correctly placed in the Hot Deals, even if you do not agree with the subject matter in general.

Finally, I ask that you do take the time to read through the forum guidelines. Go back to that same FAQ and understand what harassment and disruption. The only violations on this thread seem to be the ones committed by the offensive tone you seem to take towards me about this thread. If you don't agree with it, that's your business, and you may even state you don't agree with it and even state why, but when you begin to use offensive wording in the process, you are violating the forum guidelines. I think you are confused-we may send out links to this public forum if we wish, but let me reword the Forum Guidelines you attached:

Solicitation... Refrain from using BikeForums to advertise your site, items for sale, commercial services or website. You may attach a short link to your site within your profile or signature. Feel free to also post a link, and short description of your site in our "Shameless Promotions" forum.
Clarifying what this means so that you understand clearly what the meaning of our guidelines:

Solicitation... Refrain from using BikeForums to advertise your site, your items for sale, your commercial services or your website. You may attach a short link to your site within your profile or signature. Feel free to also post your link, and your short description of your site in our "Shameless Promotions" forum.
So, if I choose to post what I consider to be a good deal, and I choose to send this site to someone else, it is within my right and my discretion. I did not imply in the slightest that there would be a threat towards a forum member of sending their view to a third party. I merely wanted the person responsible for pointing out these hot deals to read the firsthand account about a contridiction. I am totally within my rights to do so, and if you don't like it, that's your perogative.

If you have problems with our forum guidelines, or if you have any further problems with correctly interpreting the guidelines, do not hesitate to contact myself or any of the other moderators via PM. We are always here to help, and we want to clarify the rules and regulations for our members so they are clear as to what is acceptable and what is unacceptable.

Hey Koffee, you are right. However, not to speak for everyone, but I think that everyone hates spam sooooo much, that some of it spilled out in the replies. ThanX for posting the links - there is no doubt that you did it for our benefit, and we do appreciated it!
