Adding more usuable space on handlebars.

Hi folks,
I recently got back into riding and bought a Giant Sedona ST. With this one being a comfort bike with upright bars, space is limited with the drop down to the stem area. I have my GPS mounted and that took up 90% of the usable space which has my light mounted beside the grip and sticks up too high. It's just not aesthetically pleasing(to me).

I seen a post on here about adding a light to a basket, followed that and it led to a company with a few products that do what I am wanting(minoura or something like that). However, that piece comes in 3 1/2 and 4 1/2 inch rise which is too tall for my liking.

Do any of you all know of any other products out there that may fit the bill? How about a source for clamps? I know what I am looking for, just not the proper terminology of the components to build such a monstrosity :D

Thanks,
Big D

You don't have to mount a Space Grip pointing up, just point it forward for the headlight. That will put the headlight in front of the cables. Another option, for the light, is upside down under the bar or to the side on the stem. Yet, another option for the light is your helmet.

A local tech-geek here has an extra 70mm? stem attached to his bars that goes up and out to a cut down straight bar where he attachs all his gadgets.
Excuse the poor paint skills

^^^^That turned out horrible, I hope you get the idea, it actually looks pretty neat on his bike.

this should work better. I believe its a top-down view of the bike with the seat on the left side.

I picked up one of these from Performance. Works well.

You can also mount a Minora on your stem, coming back toward the rider. You can put your cyclometer and GPS on it and leave your bars free for mounting your light.

These are of my old handlebar setup, (please excuse the mess on my bars;)).
In the drawn image, the green part is the Minora space bar.

Never thought of mounting it that way. That may be the answer.

For ten bucks, if I don't like it then I'm not out much.

Thanks for the link:thumb:

Just ordered it. Thanks again for the help folks!

It's pretty clean looking when it's on! I found that I have to crank down on the screw so that the weight of the lights don't cause the assy to swing downward. If you raise it to the top, it's fine(but too high for my taste). A little tricky and a steady hand to install at first but once you get it, it gets easier.:D

I like this idea. I work in a machine shop and am having a bracket made for the tail light so I can have two going back there.

I got an email confirmation that it shipped out yesterday. I'll put up a picture after it gets here.
