I am looking into purchasing a rear rack for my road bike (has both upper and lower braze on's) but I am not sure if these rear racks are universal or based on a specific bike/tire size? I was unsuccessful in solving this issue with a forum search (i.e. regarding the rear rack size vs. universal).

What I am looking for:

I want a rack that will bolt to both sets of braze on's that fits my bike (I assume bolting to both upper and lower braze on's will give the best stability).

I am not interested in a seat post rack.

My goal is to find a nice light weight rear rack, preferably, one that is compatible with a quick release bag (minimize the bungie cords) for my everyday work commute and family outings on the weekends.

Would love to hear some suggestions!

They're pretty much all universal. You'll see racks meant for disc-equipped bikes, but their only difference is the bottom mount has spacing built-in to clear the brake caliper.

The only necessary adjustment is in the straps that bolt to the seatstays, and you can bend & slide those quite easily to make them fit.

The next rack I'll get would be from Topeak with the slide-and-clip MTX bag mount. I think they even have baskets that mount the same way.
