Rode the Dew Plus yesterday...something lighter out there?

Well I'm still hunting for a bike to pull my daughter's bike trailer and I rode the Dew Plus yesterday. I had ridden the Trek 7.3 FX the day before to compare the two. I really liked the disc brakes on the Plus but the bike felt heavier and slower than the 7.3. I figured this was partly due to the 7.3 having narrower tires and perhaps weighing more (can't find the weight specs on the Dew.) Is there another bike I should consider with disc brakes that perhaps "feels" faster or is this par for the course for a bike with disc brakes?

You can put skinnier tires on the Dew Plus. Weight is really not an issue, especially if you are towing a trailer.

There are some other "urban" bikes like the Trek Soho and Cannondale Badboy with discs, but they are likely similar to the Dew Plus. The only fast bikes with discs are some cyclocross bikes like the Cannondale Cross XR 7 but those will be much pricier.

Why do you want to go fast carrying your kid?

That would be for when I'm not carrying her. =) This would be my only bike and I'll probably do some riding without by myself also.

I just put 700 x 28s on my dew. The upped my average speed by about 5 km/hr.
