Hi Fubar!

Yeh! Its prity damn cold here in the N.E. of England too,
down to minis 7 cent through the night brrrrrr.

Went out for a spin this afternoon tho` the clear blue sky sunshine and countryside covered in hoare frost looked so beautifull , made me just forget the cold.

Leaves me with a heck of a bike clean up job , the amount of salt they have been tipping on the roads already is quite staggering gggrrrrrr.

Volunteering with the Optomologist? That sounds dangerous!

It sounds to me like Fubar needs to take a trip up to see me and I'll show him what cold is all about. We would like still be swimming and sun bathing down where he is now.

It wasn't sooo cold. Not nearly as cold as I used to bike in in Montana. It was cold enough to make my hands really stiff and give me ear aches. I need to get ear covers.

There was a thread a while back about some pretty innovative ear covers. Check it out:

I bought some great ear cover a few weeks ago and lost them yesterday. Damn!

It was snowing like hell yesterday. Ride wasn't too bad in itself but my derailleur got all messed up. The cable tension was all screwed up and ice was all over the cable. Because of that I had to go at lower speed and spend even longer under the snow. Today less snow more ice.

Winter cycling sucks!

I just thought I'd let you all know, I live in a town which has never recorded snow.

Bastard!

Anyway. Now weather is better and my derailleur work fine again. I find it a cause of concern that a derailleur would not work under heavy snow because this is interestingly enough one of the time where I would least like to be stuck on a side fo the road, miles away from home, with a defective bike.

So that you know, it is white and wet, composed primarily of water ocassionally mixed with debrits found on the road

Ski??? Is this something people do when they can't ride? Can't say I've had that problem yet!
