So the problem this solution is suppose to fix is?

Cute, but it'll never work (Imagine being on steep singletrack and need your sugarfoot to clip in quickly).

I don't remember which bicycling magazine it was, I don't think it was Bicycling, but one of them had an article covering this pedal in, I think, early '05, maybe late '04.

As I recall, it's supposed to give a more efficient pedal stroke by moving the axis of the pedal closer the the sole of the foot, among other things.

Hurts my corns just looking at it.

from the looks of it, your foot is only being supported from the side, which will really really hurt your feet over time.

Good security. How to you ride away if there are no pedals? It looks like it was invented by Red Green or some similar dope.

Can't imagine clipping in to those in easily, but would be interested to see how they feel and work

Cool idea, but I wonder if it will end up in the same chapter of bike history as Biopace chainrings -- innovative concept, but so far from standard that nobody uses it.

So how do you make adjustments so you don't ruin your knees?

Looks gimmicky to me.

Wouldn't that play havoc with fitting a bike for the rider? It would put the sole of your foot several centimeters below the pedals' axis rather than above it.

Goes down with the automatic shifting, if it goes that far.
