Your kickstand: What & Where?
 

Anyone here who has a kickstand on their bike, what brand is it and where did you buy it?

I noticed some kickstands mount near the crank while others are rear-mount. Of the latter, will this interfere w/ trailers that attach to the rear?

A search on Amazon reveals the "Greenfield Stabilizer Rear Mount Alloy ATB Kickstand" to be the most popular. http://www.amazon.com/Greenfield-Sta...5315140&sr=8-2

I have one for my hybrid and I think I picked it up at Target for about $10-15. Could not tell you the brand, but it fits on the back of the left chain stay. The one in the pick is close to mine, and it should not interfere with anything your hauling.

I use an Esge Double Legged kickstand. I sourced it through Harris Cyclery.

:thumb: I have a couple of those as well as some normal Esge kickstands. My Raleigh has a Raleigh kickstand on it. I also have a couple of Greenfield made Schwinn approved ones too. FWIW all of my kickstands are the center mount type. I don't have any that mount near the rear wheel.

Another one with the Esge double legged kickstand. I got two bikes with them. Normal chainstay mounting.

I haven't installed it yet as I'm waiting on my new frame but I'm gonna make it pretty with some hemp twine and shellac. :thumb: :love:

I have that model on both of my bikes and wouldn't do without them. They're great although I do not tow a trailer with my bikes. They support the bike exactly over the point where you'd hang a left sided pannier which makes the bike extremely easy to load and unload. The only time it's slightly tricky is if you're hauling a heavier right sided pannier as the bike becomes a little tippy. So load the left side first, do whatever you need to get ready to ride, hang the right and then start riding.

I have the same Greenfield rear mount kickstand on my commuting bike. It works much better than the kind that is bolted to the chainstays in the center.

I love having a kickstand on my commuting bike, which is heavy as a tank anyway, so how minds the extra weight....it makes gearing up in the morning easier...the bikes stands better in the bike rack at work...its very useful when I stop to add or shed layers of clothing to deal with rain on the way to or from work.

I've got one but haven't put it on yet. Do you know if the rubber footies for the single kickstands work for the doubles?
