red rims?
 

Looking for some red rims for a project, nothing fancy. I'm working on a cruiser/rat bike project. I would rattle can the ones I have, but I've never had luck with the paint not cracking when the wheel gets laced. I put this here, never know who has seen some inexpensive red rims. 36 hole by the way.

edit: I suppose I should tell y'all that it needs to be 26" also

I'm looking for an internet retailer, but I live in the US, if that makes much of a difference. I've looked at the velocity rims, but the style would look strange on a cruiser-style bike.

I rattle canned these, the paint is holding up pretty good so far. I doubt your gonna find red rims cheaper than you can paint them.

OP, Velocity makes several styles of rims, did u check their website?

Am still waiting for sum1 with an all GOLD bike with gold rims.

One of my bikes has red rims, the front is a sun rhyno, the rear a rhyno lite. I don't know if the Sun Rhyno/lite rims are still available as red, but it couldn't hurt to look into it. They're nice rims.

juggler, that is the look I'm going for, whitewalls and red rims. But I'm going to have the red rims laced with black nipples, and silver spokes, and my old bendix 2-speed kickback hub (painted satin black) used. Anyone have tricks to making rattlecan paint stick to aluminum rims? I've looked at the velocity rims again, aren't they expensive? I'll look for sun rhyno rims in a minute.

I spraypainted these wheels after they were assembled- no idea how they'll hold up, I wouldn't expect a lot.

How about having them powdercoated?

I'm thinking about an automotive wheel paint, should last longer. I do want to paint the rim then assemble it, looks much better. But last time I tried this, the paint cracked when the guy tightened the spokes. But I also just remembered that was a steel rim. But aluminum is softer, so it flexes more. I believe the paint will crack easier.

I thought about powdercoat, waiting for the guy to e-mail me back.

Errrr, painting on the braking surface is NOT advised.
