looking for good bike shorts for women

this is late's spousal unit. i am looking for a comfortable pair of bike shorts for longer rides. i currently have a pair of performance elite, which i like pretty much, but when i recently ordered a second pair, they weren't the same. it seems like the padding is too thick and almost makes you look like you're wearing a diaper. any thoughts?

Dear late's spousal unit,

I like Pearl Izumi six-panel ladies shorts. Nice fabric, cut well and the XLs stretch to fit my "mass" posterior.

My wife ( she petite - overly thick pads were causeing chafing in places that did not make either of us happy...) now swears by her Louis Greneau (spelled wrong I know) higher end shorts.

In addition to a better cut pad, she likes the slightly slimmer cut of the spandex.

Are we talking baggy shorts or spandex here?

I only wear baggies. I like my Yuba shorts by Zoic. I prefer my liners part of my shorts, as opposed to spandex with everyday shorts over them.

OHMIGOSH.. i HATE that about performance! i bought black and navy.. the black fit fine.. the navy are HUGE! and that was in 2 different styles! i just received 2 pair of elites today.. so we'll see.. i'm going to try them on when i get home!

i really like how my shebeest's fit (they have a blue stipe!)

I recently got a high-end Louis Garneau bike shorts, too. I have to say, it's the cat's meow! (no pun intended ;-))Very comfy pad, perfect feel of fabric compared to my Hind bike shorts.
