Got a bike date
 

So tomorrow a new friend and I are heading out for a day of exploration and fellowship. Is it a formal date? No. Is it with an attractive single female to whom I am attracted? YES! So I'm picking her up in the AM, and we're driving to a somewhat local vacation area. The goal for the day is to explore the area by bike and have fun. Would I like to impress her? Sure! So what should I take along? Standard cycling equipment, ie spare tubes, pumps, lights, etc is a certainty. I'm thinking of tucking a bottle of mead and some thrift store stemware into my panniers... maybe some cheese and crusty bread for lunch. Bathing suits and towels... check. Map of area... working on it... Any other suggestions?

I am sure you have more game than I do so this won't happen to you... When I was much younger, I went on a date and we rode trails on our MTB. Me being a dumb 18 year old wanted to impress her with my prowess on my sturdy bike and took off like a shot. After awhile I thought I should see how she was doing- she came down the trail a few minutes later red in the face and scraped up knees. She was not impressed.

No second date...

Skip the sex.

But make sure to slide a potato down the front.

In that respect, make sure you wear good bike shorts, to prevent any "injuries" to that region!

Sex on a first date only puts you on a list. Hmmm.....not good. Get your shots.

And light shorts will make that extra statement. :)

I never thought it would happen to me, but the other day I was riding my bike with a real hottie. Things where going great when we both stopped to eat Power Bars and drink Gatoraid, suddenly I accidently shot Gu all over her jersey......

Mead?! What is this? The renaissance?! Bring REAL wine. Mead is a taste not enjoyed by everyone, and is sort of...well, actually quite...passe.

Good luck, man. As far as the cheese, go to a cheese monger and get something fancy. I recommend sheep's milk myself. Ewephoria, if you can find it.

Well, by now there should be a report**********?

We laughed, we swam, we biked, we shared a meal, I got sun burned (on my scalp.) As far as the biking part, we decided that we would park in town and ride out to the state park/ beach. The terrain was a bit much for her, but I handled it pretty well. After we enjoyed the park/ beach, she said... "I don't think I can make the ride back." She was nauseous and light-headed (I have that effect on women generally, but so does the early stages of heat stroke.) So I rode back to town, got the car and drove back out to pick her up. Once she got some lunch and a little rest, she felt better. All in all a pleasant day, likely to be a second date.

Sounds like you two had a very good date - congratulations! The first date my wife and I went on was a 25 mile ride. That was 20 years ago - we've been married for 15 years. We still ride our bikes together!

Just saying, but if she were 'nauseous' you wouldn't have been able to look at her with out being nauseated. I'm sure you didn't mean to say that.
