Singing spokes

The last few times I've ridden my Allez the front makes a noise like someone's plucking the spokes. I've stopped and checked them out but have found nothing. I'm getting neurotic and it's really hampering my ride. Any thoughts on what the problem is? I've checked the front end, fork, etc. too but have found nothing external.

Could it be a speedometer magnet dinging the sensor as it goes by?

Also, it may be possible for the bearings to be a bit loose, giving you more play in the wheel, where it does this part of the tima and doesn't part of the time.

How new is the Allez? The spoke tension may be getting out of whack, and you are hearing the spokes settle. Maybe have a look to see if there are any 'looser' spokes.

Thanks to both replys. I'll check the bearings and the spokes. The Allez is 5 years old and I've put a lot of miles on it. May be time for the LBS.

You may want to bring the wheel into a competent shop and have the tension checked/wheel checked over generally.
