Putting an Women's Electra Townie on Rack

I have an Womens Electra Townie. I drive a VW Beetle, so I bought a Super Joe 2 for my car and got it one today. My problem is that when I went to load my electra on the rack I can't seem to figure out how to do that. The center bar dips so low that it doesn't seem to work! Am I just being an idiot? Please help!

I think i figured it out already. I need a frame adapter. I ordered a Yakima one since that is what my rack is. Is there a better one or will that work?
