Ergon Grips- Large vs Small

I'm a guy who wears a medium to large glove and am having trouble deciding between the large and small ergon grip (GP1) sizes. I was at the LBS and while I could feel the difference between the two, I couldn't tell which one would be more comfortable in the long run.

Online, it says that many men prefer the small. Any recommendations- which do you use? Thanks.

LARGE for me, and I like 'em

I use the large, they're great. i don't have freakishly large hands, sounds about what you have. a lot of like small, but i like my large size just just fine.

I'd go for the large ones. They give you more room to shift your hands around.

I have smalls on mine (large glove size) and they fit fine. *shrugs*

I have the large ones on my commuter, and the small ones on my mountain bike.
The large one are more comfortable on the road for long distances, the smaller ones are easier to grab ahold of when you need to be active with the bar.

My average (maybe "M/L") hands measure 8.5". That's at Ergon's size division between small and large grips.

I went with the large GC2. Very comfortable. I doubt I would be nearly as comfortable with the smaller size.

A good & fair analysis of the difference in the two IMO:thumb:

I also wear medium to large gloves, so I got the Ergon GX2s which are only available in one size -- lighter than the GP series, with a slimmer wing, and the overall size seems to be medium. $45.99 at Alfred E. Bike.

If you don't want the bar ends, get the Ergon GX1s for $30.95 at Tree Fort Bikes.

Thanks for the responses- I got the large GP1 and they've been really good.

I got the nexus/rohloff version where one is shorter than the other direct from the manufacturer because they otherwise aren't available in the US.

Same here. Love 'em, by the way.
