Defective Road Morph Pump
I received my Topeak Road Morph Pump today. The little plastic pin for the lever on the pump head immediately slipped out and the lever fell off (see photo). I put things back but it just slips out again.
Has anyone else had this problem? If you have this pump, can you see if your pin has a head on it?

It may be that when the knurled part of the head is loose, the pin can fall out. I had loosened it to see if I needed to change to the presta configuration, and that's when the pin fell out. I've tightened it and perhaps it is OK now.

If the pin's metal and hollow, could you spread the ends just a hair (with a nail set?) to hold it in place?
Or e-mail the manufacturer and ask what to do. I had some problem, can't remember what, with a Topeak pump a few years ago and wrote to the company to ask about replacement parts. They sent me everything I needed in a couple of days, no charge. My advice would be to be polite and inquisitive rather than angry and accusatory.

Right, this is what I wrote them:

If its new, and you bought it locally, exchange it. If you bought it online, you may as well go through Tokpeak for a warranty repair. Let us know how it goes.

The gauge for my Topeak floor pump quit last week, and they sent me a replacement for free. They said they'd had problems with the gauge on that model, and the replacement solved the problem. They've got great customer service.

Yeah, I've had similar dealings with Topeak. Fabulous customer service, every time I've had a problem with one of their pumps they ask no questions, just immediately send me the replacement part at no charge.
Which I guess makes up for the fact that I have to keep calling them about problems with their pumps.

I had the same response from Topeak 6 months ago when I asked about a replacement O-ring for my floor pump piston. Still waiting. (Actually I bought a replacement from the local nut 'n bolt store.)

I would just take it back. Feel lucky you got a response. It took 45 days and a nasty rant about their service to get the part I wanted to buy, not get free, but buy.

I have emailed them several times. They always quickly shipped a part at no charge. Unfortunately it was the wrong part 2 or 3 times despite detailed description including pictures. Ultimately I got the right part and had plenty of spare parts by the time it was done. All in all I was pretty happy with their service despite the confusion. I think they really tried to make it right and ultimately did. In fact they went out of their way to help even though it wasn't under warranty.
