hey Roadie Girl, FYI, GT isn't making ANY frames anymore! Bought out by Pacific and supposidely going to Cra#! I've been a big fan of GT's over the years and I'm sad to see such a good bike co go down the corporate toilet!
I've owned a GT Pro BMX, a GT Speed Series BMX, a GT Karakorum (BTW Orange/Yellow w/black stripes '92 model I think!) Finally, a Ricochet and my wife has a Backwoods. - Last 2 were '96 vintage. |

What else can a fella ask for. I am truly blessed to have a wife who lets me fullfill my biking dreams.

Chewa -
I only recently stumbled across the fact that Flying Scot and Hetchins ( http://www.hetchins.org/ ) bikes existed. Who ever said that bikes are not great art? Cheers...Gary |
My buddy has a beautiful curly stay Hetchins Magnum Bonum(or something like that).
Not my taste but the lugwork is fantastic!! |
Hetchins style frames are now made by Bob Jackson cycles of Leeds. I went for the BJ stock touring frame with Campy Mirage; nice lugwork, but a it more retrained than the Hetchins.
My everyday commuter bike is, I think, a 1980s Orbea frame (very nicely made sport tourer) with a contanly changing vista of components. Its like the broom Ive had since 1965, only 2 new handles and 4 new heads and still sweeps like new. Somwhere I still have a 1979 Falcon "Ernie Clements" Majorca 5 speed (my very first racer). Still quite rideable after all these years. last yar I saw a kid on my very first new bike, a Raleigh Rodeo. |
Cannondale R900 for commuting
GT Vengeance for getting daft on Quintana Roo TeQuilo for the wife Marin MTB for getting nicked outside the pub at night:beer:  |

Mine is metallic dark brown / charcoal instead of Celeste and has clinchers instead of tubulars, but the attached picture is otherwise a near-clone of my alternative to the male midlife crisis Italian sports car.

For off road, I have a Giant Sedona 22" frame from about 1994. Great bike and all broken in for me. I need to add a front suspension fork. It is a threaded setup so I need to figure out what to buy or how to change to an threadless if that is possible. Any advice? For the road I just got a Giant OCR road bike with a carbon fork in August.

Bikes I (will) own are (since every single one has different wheel size I list them as well)
1995 Peugeot hybrid touring bike.. no longer used, and still waiting to be changed into a MTBish bike (622mm rims) 1997 Avaghon Griffon, a randonneuring & touring bike: has been revamped 2 times already and covered approx. 60 000 K (559mm rims) 1998 Brompton T5 folder bicycle for commuting by train, is now used as a shopping bike as well as the shopping bike was stolen (308mm rims) 2002 Airnimal Chameleon (520mm), a folder bicycle for randonneuring.. it should be ready in 2 weeks. It is hopefully lighter than my Avaghon and will be used for getting to/from cycling events in Europe and perhaps even further away.. it's comparable to a Bike Friday Pocket Rocket. Bikes I've owned until mid-/late- 90s: 1975 Gazelle shopping bike (590mm).. stolen in 1997 after 22 years of daily (ab)use, after which I bought the folder bicycle 1980ish Koga Miyata sports bicycle (622mm) .. very light, but not useful for errands, so I sold it when I acquired the Peugeot touring bicycle 1980ish Union shopping bicycle (590mm) to be used as a 2nd bicycle for train commutes.. it was vandalized in 1999. |

When I went to Bike Motion 2001 - the big sport bike show in Utrecht last year - one of the booths had a display of unicycle mountain bikes. I didn't quite know what to think. I guess it's a good thing I didn't laugh. :o
Cheers...Gary |
1999 Airborne Zepelin
Dura-ace, chris king headset, dura-ace 7700 wheels, thomson seatpost. Bought it 2-weeks prior to the release of the 2000 version wish I had known. Bike rides awsome if I had the chance to do it over I would buy it again although I would wait 2 - weeks :-) |
99 - 00? Lemond Zurich, red and white, Dura Ace 9 speed upgrade, Chris King Headset, Ultegra BB and Cranks, RSX Brakes (hey I ran out of money)Mavic CXP 21 rims on RSX Hubs. Its a work in progress, I bought the frame and have been piecing the rest together.
1985 Puch model 170 Touring Bike, Suntour equipped, many miles in many places. 1986 Diamondback Asent EX mountain Bike, Original Deore equipped with Oval Chainrings. This one needs some TLC. |
'01 Wilier Treistina Lavaredo- dura ace drive w/ the rest ultegra and open pro rims- love it- I would love to set up a commuter- maybe w/ my old Bianchi but I was in a lbs that specializes in older stuff and just drooled at all the old steel lugged frames- eddy merckx w/ 7-up colors, several old Pinarellos and Raleighs and Peugots and an old Paramount... wow what you could set up with that stuff...oh yeah, and a beautiful Bridgestone, too

On order: Serotta Legend Ti w/F2 CF fork. New bike will be same setup (parts cannibalized from old bike) with following mods: Chris King headset, USE Alien CF seatpost, Campy Record-T front derailleur, and new Campy Record dual-pivot brakes.
