Does anyone make billet aluminum tire levers
or any sort of metal? Reason I ask, I managed to snap 2 in half trying to get my michelins on to my Fulcrum Racing 5's, and I've read in a few places these rims are a ***** to get tires on to. i need replacements that aren't gonna break and leave me stranded in the middle of a triathlon!

Soma Fabrications makes a steel tire lever that is then coated in plastic. It is strong, and won't gouge your rims when you are getting the tire off. I got three off of ebay for <$10.

I got some Ti ones with an online order a couple years ago, but I can't recall where. They tear rims up pretty good, so I wouldn't recomend them.

I carry a set (3) of Minoura, which are round aluminum. I've never managed to bend or break one and my wheels are a beast to get narrow clinchers on/off of. Weigh next to nothing and pretty cheap. Online I've seen 'em at Harris Cyclery.

Park makes a giant metal lever, although I've found the plastic Quik-Stik to be very, very strong.

Thanks for the tips, I think the Soma ones look smallest which is what I need to fit in my seat pouch for triathlons.

Rivendell's website has unbreakable metal tire levers. I've discovered that if a tire is a "perfect" match to a given rim, you can use your fingers to get the tire off. If you a breaking tire levers to get a tire off, that particular tire and rim are not a good marriage.
