Trek 7300 - short arms. Help!
I've racheted the adjustable handlebars as far back as they'll go, and still it's not quite right for me and my short arms.

What can I do? It's a new (well 2008) Trek 7300. I need a good inch or three to really be comfortable...

Have you rotated the handle bar to the back and raised the stem as high as it will go? bk

Yep, that's exactly what I did.

I guess next would be to tell the shop from where you bought it that they need to better fit you for a bike. Maybe they can swap out the handlebars.

I'm not sure about that - I'm 5'8" and the bike is a 17'5" frame. I test rode a 15" and felt it was even worse - my leg length put the seat so high I was really leaning forward to get my hands on the bars. If I went any higher than 17.5 frame I wouldn't be able to get my crotch over the bars!

Whew, problem solved by a very helpful tech at the LBS. He switched out the stem for the highly-adjustable one on the 2009 Trek 7300 :-) I'm happy!

I was juuuust about to mention that. Glad things worked out for you.

How do you like the 7300?
I'm about to buy a new hybrid and the 7300 Trek is in a dead heat (my opinion only) against the Cannondale Adventure 3.

I did get to ride a 7200 (no 7300 in stock) and the Adventure 3 today and was VERY impressed with the 7200. How do you like your 7300? What did you compare it against when you bought?

If I were to make the decision tonight, the 7300 would be the one I will buy.

Any other 7300 fans care to chime in?

We also looked at the Cannondale Adventure, which is very similar but a tad more expensive when you compare apples and apples. Almost identical components so it's a toss up.

The 7200 and 7300 are also very similar - I preferred the trigger shift so that sort of made up my mind.
