you're in your LBS, looking at a nice new Bianchi, and some dude just walks up next to you and nonchalantly says, "That's a nice 'bee-an-chee?'"

I just say, "hey dude, that's a purty beeantchee you got there. I would like to have some of those Shymaano derails and one of those kamponollo pedal thingees. That sure would look nice sitting on my thoolee bike rack.

I bet you are one of those anal retentive types aint ya?

Since someone asked, it's pronounced "bee-an-key". In Italian, the 'chi' sound is pronounced like 'key'. Bianchi means 'white'.

This is almost as bad as chess snobs who insist that the kingside Bishop in the King's Indian Defense isn't "fianchettoed" but instead is "in fianchetto."

don't you just hate it when Patrick8037 gets his panties in a wad because some American wiener doesn't pronounce some over priced European bike name according to his elite, snobbish, left-wing, self indulgent standards. OMFG!

..I'm going to blow my frigging brains out right after I vote for Hussein the left wing nutcase Obama!

I think I have to go to the Doctor tomorrow. My Bianchi is inflamed!

No, because I don't look at them and don't care how they're pronounced. If the whole stack of them were free, I wouldn't bother hauling one home, for that matter. When I'm in the LBS, I'm after parts or tires or whatever.

Better stay away from Texas then, from what I'm told we pronounce everything "wrong" far as I'm concerned It's the right way, but I don't get all bent out of shape when someone pronounces things in their own way, but then again I am not an elitist snob either.

Ouch, poor guy has posted 7 times here & has been castigated (though quite deservedly) enough I believe for his transgression.

I enjoy annoying my LBS by saying BONT-RAGE -ERR. They are the local distributor.

Maybe the guy in the LBS was pronouncing it the Chinese way since it's made in China/Taiwan? Like Tai Chi? hahahahahah

Wow, did I stumble onto the road or fixed gear forums by mistake? Where'd all the hate come from? Well, I know how to pronounce it Patrick. Now try Bottecchia.
