New Addition to the Family

For my birthday, alkemnation went with me to buy my new bike. I bought a Kona Dew. I was planning on ordering it at the end of the month, but got enough presents to make up the difference. Mike (my LBS buddy) said he would order it ASAP. He started teasing me because every time I come into the shop I have done all this extensive research. I am really excited about my new bike and can't wait for it to get here. With gas prices going up the way they have now is the perfect time to start commuting to work. I'll post pictures as soon as I have brought my new baby home.

Joy,

Happy Birthday and congrats on the new bike. I think you made an excellent choice with the Dew. I think that bike may be the best bang-for-the-buck all around contender. I love the off-white color. I also think that the straight bars will give you much better stability and confidence on those railtrails than drop bars. The Dew Deluxe and Dr. Dew just aren't worth the extra money considering what you get with the Dew. Looking forward to seeing some photos.

I don't have the time to build the frame up the way I want. I'm working two jobs and going to grad school, so I got something else that will allow me to do what I want and need.

tbobby -- thanks. I agree this bike is probably the best choice. I still want a Jake, but right now I can't do things the way I want. As soon as I can bring my bike home I will take some pics and post them.
