I don't know how serious this thing has become, but if you manage to get the thing to the border in Iran or Tajikistan I might be able get it and drive it back to Kabul, where I could do the "road" miles on my trainer. I know it's not exactly the real thing, but it beats trying to ride a bike wearing a tactical vest with 60 lbs of gear and an assault rifle. I could then get it on a military hop to the Pakistan border. Yes, I am somewhat serious. Congrats on getting this thing off the ground, and if it makes it to this side of the world drop a line to TypinskiMT@state.gov if it's in the next 6 months.

Just seen this, think it's a great plan.
Living in Bristol, UK. Could do anything between Wales and London I reckon due to having places to stay.

Well well, long time no see!
The bottle has indeed been "stuck" in Dayton, Ohio for quite awhile. I left this site a long while ago to tend to personal heath matters within my family and am now finally able to return to cycling.
I did offer to send the bottle on at my own expense to anyone willing to keep the chain alive, but unfortunately no one took me up on my offer... so here in Dayton it stayed.
I'm willing to meet anyone within 50 miles of 45345 zip code on bike and make the swap. is there ANYONE in this area that would like to meet me?? I'll consider longer distances as well....

I'm in Knoxville TN, that's about 300 miles. I could go up to about 50 miles away - I'm not up for riding more than 100 total. if someone in Kentucky came through...

I do plan on doing a charity ride at Big Bone Lick state park (gotta love the name) in northern Ky. on June 2, '07 as well. If I cant find anyone closer, heck maybe we can meet up then?? I just hate to see this thing die...

I just read/skimmed through the thread and it looks like the idea has pretty much died.. but I would absolutely do my part if we can somehow connect between the two of us.

I don't really want to read over the past 12 pages again, but can anyone sum up exactly where it started, where it has been, and where it is going (ie N/S/E/W/etc)
EDIT: also, did you try recruiting people from roadbikereview or another forum?

What's happening?
Hi All,
Read this thread & got all fired up about the idea, signed up for Spain if it comes this way, then read more taking a bit more notice, am I right in thinking that in nearly TWO YEARS this thing has changed hands twice?
