The saddle of AGONY
 

Ok.

Yesterday I put my new saddle back on the bike (the Selle Italia C2 that came with it) and rode 38km. Rode 76km today and it is KILLING me. but the main thing is that it is the sides rubbing on my upper thighs, near the crease. My old saddle (Tri Matic 2) off the Apollo is marginally narrower in this place and is fine, except the rails do not extend as far back as the C2. (I have wacky body proportions...legs want a 58 or 61cm bike, and the torso wants a 56cm - am on 58cm) I am going to do some radical changes to the stem angle etc, but I still need the longer rails.

So basically I am looking for a saddle that is narrow in the curved part behind the nose, and has long rails. Not too much padding is ok - Tri Matic2 and C2 were ok in this area. Suggestions?

Selle Italia SLR. Rock hard and takes a bit of getting used to, but ultimately worth it

Flite titanium, Good narrow saddle, and I say Titanium for the strength in the rails. I have finally changed my old Flite titanium to a "new" flite titanium. The new one has a little gell and a cutaway for the pelvic bone. It works.

meybe you just need a shorter stem and shorter reach handlebars...this way, you could use you tried and true acomfy saddle and still have a good reach to the bar and a good knee/pedal interface.

There is only one saddle.

don't know how much cash you want to drop, but the fiziks has some pretty sweet stuff (I'm partial to the new Arione myself) but the new San Marco OV looks pretty good, though if your having issues with your thighs rubbing I'd check out something like the Selle Italia SLK or any of the other relatively thin nosed saddles out there (I ride an SLK)

My old Trimatic 2 is fine with leg rubbing no probs there, but i end up uhhh numb and in pain a wee bit. Even sitting back with hands on the tops to get further back doesnt help too much. Am going to rectify the stem issue, and change saddles. Also i reckon my TM2 is fugly, so want a classy one anway.
