What bike would James Bond ride?

With the new one just out in the cinemas... what features would Q pack into his bike? Tire busters? Oil screens?

Any ideas?

Isn't it "stirred, not shaken"?
It would definately have to be British. Perhaps a Super Raleigh with a rocket booster under the Custom made Brooks saddle

Shimagnolo 11-12-08 02:44 PM

It would probably be a folding bike that stowed in a briefcase.

mickey85 11-12-08 02:49 PM

Shimagnolo, that would be Inspector Gadget.

He'd probably ride a top of the line, carbon framed road bike clearanced specifically for CX tires so that he can take it offroad. Oh, and it'd cost a crapload too - like the $12K Pinarello that I saw this past weekend.

Carbon fiber, amphibious, capable of flight as an Ultra-Light Aircraft, rocket launchers in the TT bars, self destruct (with a BIG explosion like his Lotus had when he blew it up) JATO under the seat, ejection stoker seat, AND it folds to fit in a briefcase :)

Well I would have said folding is essential. So is some sort of boost, possibly from a mini jet.

Weapons you could just go silly with really. I like the idea of lasers shooting forward though that in true jame bond fashion can instantly melt through 2" thick metal (screw riding around something, stick the lasres on, cut a bike shaped hole and ride through it).

If your talking about actual bikes I think it would have to be a modified custom brompton, mainly because I just can't imagine him driving around with a bike rack on his car. I think a titantium frame is the only true option (although carbon firbre would also be acceptable).

Mackerel, Looks like in the first pic James has a flat. This is not good. Better bring it back to "M".

MadeInItaly 11-12-08 05:57 PM

He wouldn't ride a bike..

delver 11-12-08 06:16 PM

Pashley Guv'nor. Three speed. Only on his days off.

That image is from the movie "Man With The Golden Pump", James is trying to lure him out of the shadows.

I think Bond needs a speed machine, and the Zipp is where its at.

Somebody confiscate that man's copy of photoshop.

As for what bike Bond would ride, It would have to be a longtail, to allow him to offer a ride to the inevitable femme fatale!
