What are the most comfortable handlebars?

I'm thinking of turning an old mountain bike into a road bike b/c I like the frame and love the low gears. Straight bars really bother my wrists. I seem to be most comfortable on regular drop bars with my hands on the brake hoods. I know there are a lot of bars out there in all kinds of shapes and I know there a lot of bar add-ons to make even more hand positions possible. just asking for some recommendations of possible bars or add ons that would work well for someone who prefers the hands-on-hoods position. Thanks!

How about just something with some sweep like the On One Space bar or some north roads.

Yes, In order for your wrist to stop hurting you have to get your weight OFF them and more on
your butt. You may also need a new stem & seat but take them one step at a time.

All that said........get your weight off your wrist!!

Ergon Grips too, for straight bars. They're pricey, but worth it. I love mine.

I would second something like the North Road.

Putting drops on a MTB entails some different parts (shifters, brake levers, etc). Also, the geometry may not be desirable after the drops are added.

Which model do you like? I was just looking at the ones with the integrated bar ends, but didn't know if they're worth the extra $$.
