What are the most comfortable handlebars?
I'm thinking of turning an old mountain bike into a road bike b/c I like the frame and love the low gears. Straight bars really bother my wrists. I seem to be most comfortable on regular drop bars with my hands on the brake hoods. I know there are a lot of bars out there in all kinds of shapes and I know there a lot of bar add-ons to make even more hand positions possible. just asking for some recommendations of possible bars or add ons that would work well for someone who prefers the hands-on-hoods position. Thanks!

How about just something with some sweep like the On One Space bar or some north roads.

your butt. You may also need a new stem & seat but take them one step at a time. All that said........get your weight off your wrist!! |
Ergon Grips too, for straight bars. They're pricey, but worth it. I love mine.

I would second something like the North Road.
Putting drops on a MTB entails some different parts (shifters, brake levers, etc). Also, the geometry may not be desirable after the drops are added. |
