I ran into a parked car on my first ten speed around 1970. You can still see the scar on my head after all these years. It was a bloody mess, but as others have said, lesson learned-

That's your defense? Like a plea bargain? The prosecution must be very confused!

No! No! No! No! No! No! No! That defense only applies to pinch flats!

I outdid all of you when I was in high school - I hit a bank. It was wet out, and I changed my mind about which way I was going to turn at the last minute and hit the bricks on the front step with the handlebar when I couldn't slow down fast enough. No real harm done to the bank or the bicycle, but the ego was bruised for a while.

My brother drives an 18 wheeler for a living. Told me about a trucker, who had pulled to the side of the road to take a nap. Was awaken by a law officer, told him a cyclist had hit the back of his trailer and was injured.

I ran into a parked truck when I was a kid. Tore a gash in my right arm; I had to get 3 stitches to close it. Still have the scar.

The worst I managed was hurting my family jewels hitting a stump when mountain biking. I learnt about target fixation, and haven't hit anything since.

Stupidest thing I ever heard. I'll bet it's been 35 years since I did it.

I hit the back of a parked VW Beetle at ~5:00 AM in 1972 while delivering newspapers. No injury to me and the bicycle was made of recycled railroad track so it was fine. There was a small scratch on the VW, but the biggest problem was "Watergate" scattered all over the road. Some people got a gritty newspaper that morning, lucky it was a dry morning. I never have been what you would call a "morning person".
