Specialized S-Works Carbon or Trek Elite 9.9 SSL?
Gurus,
Anyone familiar with these two models? I really can't make up my mind whether to go for the Specialized S-works or the Trek Elite. I did a pedalsmonkey comparison but not sure.
I ride about 200KM a week on all kinds of terrains but nothing really fancy.
Kevin.

Since they're both madly expensive bikes, The only thing I can see is I like the Trek Elite's geometry a little better.
With that in mind, I would never spend that much on a bike. Ever.

A couple things-
1) the trek isn't really going to come with the XXX wheels- trek couldn't produce enough to put them on any bike as oem.
2) the spesh has a funky steerer setup- 1 1/8" top to 1 1/2" bottom- harder to replace the fork if you want to. the trek has a straight 1 1/8".
3) trek has a SID fork, the spesh has, well, a spesh.
4) trek has a 2x9 drivetrain- won't have that tiny gear. that said, the one time i rode a 2x9 i didn't even touch the small chainring.
so just a few things to think about- and personally, i'd go for the trek.
