in sizes for mountain bikes, comfort or cruiser bikes, do they make 26" x 1.5 to 2.0 "mag" wheels for bikes? im sure they have a very expensive carbon fiber racing wheel in that size, but what about the rest of us? surely the technology exists out there for affordable set of adult mag wheels out there in 26" sizes. if they exist, help a brother out and if not, they should. think about it, custom designs, durability and color coding/schemes for your bike. you gotta admitt, a world of only the conventional spoked wheel is boring and its time for more choices.

've seen them, can't remember where though. I wanted a 700c mag that isn't carbon.

however these rims are not very wide.

A buyer on Motoredbikes.com says that the rim's outside width is only about an inch, and that probably the widest tire the wheels would take well would be a 1.5".

I would also warn that these wheels are best used for casual riding, and not hard use. A number of companies in the past have tried to make MTB mag wheels, and all but one have pulled out after durability issues.

They're listed as out of stock, but have been for a long time now, so they may be building to order.

The Aerospokes are built strong, for casual riding they'd last forever. And they're not really that expensive, for upper-end wheels.

I've never owned any but as I've heard and read it,,,, the reason that riders aren't fond of them is that they're rather heavy, compared to wire spokes. For most types of sanctioned racing, they aren't even legal.

Sometimes boring is good. I'm not even crazy about low spoke count wheels.

They do make a 24" size. If you can use a 3" tire, then that comes close to the same outer diameter as a 26" wheel+tire would.

Boring? Maybe, but the spoke wheel will ride better longer than any "mag" wheel ever made.

1. skyway makes a 24"? intriguing. i will have to check them out. i heard a fatty 3" wide 24" inch tire will make up the overall circumferance.

2. surely the technology exists out there to construct a good and affordabe 26" mag wheel for most full sized bikes. spokes are good and there are many amazing wheel builders out there, but am i the only one thinking outside the box?

Those Tags look interesting. I wouldn't want to ride any trails on those taiwanese wheels, city riding maybe.

Here's another make: tri-spoke wheels (material unknown, but I'd guess carbon) and these are curved spokes. So far all the ones I've seen are straight, so these are from another company.
(I do not know who makes the wheels, but it's a start anyway)

There was a recall on the Porsche MTBs but what I found only mentioned the carbon handlebars and seatposts, I didn't see anything bad about the wheels.
