Sheriff's bicycle auction

I like to buy bicycles at the sheriff's auctions. They were involved in something and no one claimed them so they auction them off.

The prices were higher and more people were there this time. Seems like more people are buying bicycles.

Lots of cool bikes there.

Where do you live?

I'm in Socal. Forget getting a deal on a used bike here. Big demand, even in winter. The fixie crowd tend to nab the old road bikes, paying far more than I consider them worth. I bought a decent Univega Viva Sport & sold it for a stupid price to a guy who's going to make a fixie out of one of the nicest cheaper road bikes.

Bike flippers can't have personal feelings. I still hope my bikes get used & appreciated.

South Florida. I would think every county has one. It was fun. I filled my truck and trailer up ! So did lots of others. :) I will ask if I can take pictures and show them next time.

Is that auction up by PBIA? I know they have a store up there.

At the one city auction I've been to, the bikes were mostly Walmart bikes that cost $50-$100 new, selling used and beat up for $5 or so- not a lot to get excided about. Although I did use some of the bearings and whatnot off the steel-frame-Huffy mountainbike that I bought.

Yes alot of those. Alot of them made in the USA. You don't see that at WalMart much anymore.

I have alot of bikes and parts now. I like to make stuff like this.
