If they could figure how to import them to the US for a decent price I bet there would be a market for them. Just for the novelty and green factor if for nothing else.

Yeah.
He's also supposed to be bringing a bamboo commuter to the US market (or so I've heard).
It's supposed to be in the twelve hundred dollar price point for a complete build.
