Looks like a fun place to ride. But salt water is probably murder on the drivetrain.

What kind of tires do you need to go over sand like that???

I would probably get a cheap bike just for it and spare my good bikes from the salt water. Something I can hose-down at a public tap and drip dry without worrying about the bike.

I've ridden my MTBs on soft sand and the beach before, I wouldn't use MTB tires... too much drag. Wet sand is actually a lot harder and compact than it looks. I'd say a smooth road patterned 1.75 would be the ideal "wet sand" tire. Nothing will work on soft sand.

Looks like more fun with a group of like minded cyclists!
