Mountain Biking and Road Biking.
Mountain or in my case Trail biking and Road biking. Wow! What a difference! I have work up to about 10 miles per day on my MT bike. So today afraid of a surprise thunderstorm popping up, I hit the dirt trails behind my home. Wheww!!!! What a killer workout. Anybody else find it harder to ride dirt trails or mountain trails?
Ps I rode for about 20mins on dirt then hit the road for about 5 miles. :) |
Nobody else rides the two different styles?

I love both. I am addicted to both smooth pavement and technical singletrack.

yeah i like doing both. my mountain biking skills are not superb but its still fun. i like being able to ride through a forest on days where the sun is beating down and theres no cloud cover instead of riding along open roads. or going for an early morning road ride and an evening mtb ride.

Thank God! I thought that I was the only one.:)

My first love was mountain biking but I have also crossed over to road. I find that they each have much to offer in different ways and enjoy both equally for different reasons (and some similar ones too).

You can't do just one here, you miss too much. You really need a boat to enjoy this area of the country.

I ride both, but prefer mountainbiking. I can easily ride 30 miles and get a good workout, but after 12 miles off-road, I'm SPENT!

I don't do both. More because there are so many trails here there really isn't a need. If I ever move back to ontario I would likely get one to keep my fitness up. Depending on the trail can go 6km and be dead in a 3 hour ride (yes 6km in 3 hours and thats a reasonable time)...or find a not so technical singletrack and ride 25km. I love my mtb :)

I'm thinking about getting an entry level bike (less than $500) to be able to ride local trails and ride with a friend that just moved to Oregon. I'm building up my road skills, so I can only imagine how hard mountain biking will be. :-)

love both riding disciplines!
even when i'm feeling very fit on the road, i can get out-of-breath on the trails. it's good cross-training. |
