Not happy with current bike - Please share with me your wisdom

I currently have a 2007 Bad Boy Ultra from Cannondale. Quite nice bike, good components, blah blah blah...

When I got the bike I was coming from an off-road background, and the idea was to invest, later down the road, on a set of off-road wheels and have, pretty much, 2 bikes for the price of one (the bad boy ultra is nothing but a F600 with 700c wheels and some minor cosmetic changes).

well, my riding style changed, my desire to go off road is gone, and now that I experienced some road-bike geometry and some simpler bikes (even a fixed gear that a friend has), I am interested in something different.

The problem is that I cannot afford a third bike (I already have my 16" Brompton that I love), if I sell the bad boy I will not be able to buy anything 1/2 decent (I actually have the Bad Boy for sale on clist and almost no people interested).

With that said, what kind of road bike geometry frame can I get and pretty much import the decent components that I have from the Bad Boy and be happy with something lighter, faster and with a more urban geometry?

This is what I have:

This is what I want:

Is it possible? (I know, one is SS/FG, the other has 24 speeds, one is disk, the other one isn't, but I am just talking about the geometry).

Thank you for your feedback in advance.

If you want to use the disc brakes, I would consider a cyclocross frame. Most of the parts should switch over, and the geometry is pretty darn close to road.

Any steel or CroMo cyclocross frames that you recommend? I want my new frame to be stripped and coated with a clear coat, just like the Volume Cutter Raw

Thank you for your prompt reply.

Just get a rigid fork and seatpost for the Bad Boy and call it good. Maybe some bar ends if you want to stretch out a bit more.

What size is your BBU?

The BBU is Medium.

I think the offerings from surly or salsa are quite worthy. My bro got a carbon specialized tri-cross(which I know you don't want) that is unbelievably light and just...cool IMO.

You can get an external eccentric bottom bracket to fit a std shell. Convert the Bad Boy to singlespeed or fixed. You can get disk-compatible singlespeed hubs.
