Motorist assault

Well, Just got back from a really nice ride. Had for the first time, a vehicle actually make contact with me while passing. IT was an eighteen wheeler without a trailer on and when he came by his back dual burnt a whole in my glove on the pinky finger. Wow!!! I motioned for him to stop, but as most motorists, with out several tons of steel wrapped around them, they and he have no BALLS. what a guy. I would like to know why trucks that are bob-tailed are not required to display a license plate? !!! Any law enforcement people on here. I think he new full well that once his front bumper was by me, I'd have no way to identify him. Luckily, for me we were in a 35 MPH zone in town.

Call the cops ASAP. What are the odds there's another 18wheeler w/o trailer in town going the same direction? Try to remember the description and color and give that to the cops too.

We can't always ride with cycling friends..But that is one benefit..We watch out for one another...Or attempt to. With more of us, they are less brazen. And maybe a chance of someone else seeing the jerks.

It could be anyones guess as to wether someone else saw it. My guess would be no. The heck of it is the main drag going through sugar creek is FOUR lanes. I'm riding the left hand wheel track of the RH lane as with the rain this week, mass quantities of road debri. He had the left hand lane. That is why I KNOW this was deliberate. there are two places open today. Lafarge and TRW. I checked in at both. TRW has the same white trucks but most of them have vehicle number and logo on the back of the cab. My very special friends truck had no identifying marks on the back. Thought about the police, but with no way of identifying the truck it would be like pissing in the ocean. Sure I'd know I did it, but it wouldn't make a difference. anyway, thanks for the replies and ride safe. There truly are some sadistic PR$8KS out there. ride long and prosper. Stan

I wonder if it's illegal to carry something like a paintball full of permenant paint. If a car swipes you, you try to catch up as much as possible and chuck the thing at the car. A car with a huge bright orange splot on the side of it's bound to be a lot easier to identify by cops.

Don't forget the independents, I think you will find that to be the most likely culprit in this case. Most major haulers come down on their drivers in complaints like this they don't need the liability. I think most states do require a rear plate but I am not sure.
