Long ride, Acai Chews helped

After riding for a while I stopped by a friends house. In the middle of my chat with him I told him I need a pick-me-up, he gave me this little purple chew, it was an Acai Chew, I don't know if you've tried these but they were amazing. I don't know if it was the rest or the Chew but I felt so much better that day.

So that others will know what "Acai" is please read this link BEFORE you put any in your mouth or
body.

I don't get it. Is there something bad about eating these? I didn't see anything particularly negative in the wikipedia link.

That looks like the perfect spam link to go with the original post.

Until a full study on mutagenesis is performed on the components, I'd be quite leary of munching acai.

I put that up as a warning. I follow the policy of........"If in doubt..Don't" You'll live longer and better
if you follow that policy too.

As an avid (and highly trained in mycology) mushroom hunter, we have a similar couple of sayings:

When in doubt - throw it out.

and...

There are old mushroom-hunters. And there are brave mushroom-hunters. But there are no old and brave mushroom-hunters.

If you decide to try acai beware of offers of a "free trial" over the internet. It's a wide spread scam. Google it and see.
I get my new VISA number in 7-10 days...

I'm curious to know what "tallbike" considers to be a "long ride".

A scam that is prevalent is you order their trial offer. And the next thing you know - trucks bearing mass-quantities are pulling up in front of your residence. Guess you missed the microscopic print on page 462...

Heart shaped

No the Acai Chews I took weren't heart shaped, have you heard of another product heart shaped? That would be cool. No they were square, looked like a piece of bubblelicious but purple, sweet and healthy.

Thanks all for giving me your thought. I'm not an expert biker and I'm sure many of you have gone on longer bike rides then me. I usually ride my bike to work, and because of that don't really bike for recreation on the weekends. I would consider a long ride to be over 50 miles but I've never done that yet. I would love to work up to that. No a lot of my biking is within 15 miles (one way) of my house, with various terrains, steep hill, down hills, flat streets.

I didn't want to make that one post to long. But the last thing I want to do is seem like a spammer, I'm sure many of you have felt exhausted while or after biking and have had things that have helped you recover. For me, that day, it was an wonderful pick-me-up. Thank-you for your information and concern. I look forward to reading more from you and enjoying the posts from my fellow bikers.

So, the danger is the scam and not the fruit?

I'm fairly sure there was a purple, heart shaped product that was some sort of 'pick me up'.

The name escapes me atm....

Acai

I use and recommend the Acai berry, it's done wonders for me and my friends. When I used it my energy boosted immediately and after a day or so I noticed that I generally 'felt' healthier overall. I know now that it's due to the berry's antioxidant power and cleansing abilities.

In the middle of my chat with him I told him I need a pick-me-up. . . .
I'm having trouble imagining me in this conversation. Doesn't sound like anyone I've ever met, as a matter of fact.
