First, wanted to say that I just found this forum over the past week and it sure seems like a great place for info, etc,,, I've found many interesting topics,,,,,,

I'm 45 years old and just started biking again (more serious side) last year and this year upgraded my bike to take the next step,,, while in the Army, I was stationed in Germany and rode a lot, but that was in my younger years,,, my wife likes riding so I look forward to this year,,,

Here's a pic of the new bike,,, Jamis Allegro 2,, I upgarded the crank to a 105,,,,

Looks like a cool bike to me. I particularly like the hourglass chain and seat stays. I'm thinking it's going to serve you well.

Now here's what you should do: Ride your bike frequently for five years. Then you'll be old enough to log onto the 50+ forum and tell us how much you've enjoyed it.

That bike is too clean- so come back after a couple of hundred miles and tell us how the comeback went

Good choice on the bike so get riding and enjoy the 50 mile rides and the 10% hills for a couple of miles- You know you want to. If you don't then find a flatter route and enjoy that instead- but That bike will do most of what you want it to do. Just get the engine up to par. Being "EX" army- should take a couple of rides.
