Question for an Experienced Ebay Seller

Can anyone help out

I have an auction for a frame going on ebay right now

https://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=140320873904
Vintage 80's S. Marco Track frame

In the auction I stated no International sales, and have been pm'd by several ebayers overseas for the frame

I was just contacted by a girl in Ireland, who asked if it would be possible to bid on it, if she wins she will pay by paypal and wants it shipped to her uncle in Ohio.

She has 12 feedback, all positive

I am new at overseas buyers..I have sent stuff to Canada

So should I allow her to bid? Can anything come back and bite me on the a_s?

Any problem with letting her know I will ship to Ireland via USPS?

I just need some feedback from someone more experienced with overseas buyers

thanks for the help

doco,

As long as she pays you should be good to go. I would ship it to her uncle just to cut down on the PITA of shipping overseas.

I buy stuff on UK ebay all the time and have it shipped to my son in Leeds. Either he or my wife brings the stuff home with them in their luggage.

As along as it's a registered PayPal address for the user. Otherwise it's on you if it goes wrong.

Also, make sure you keep all communication between you and her, just in case. Save all your emails, paypal stuff, everything. There really isn't anything wrong with sending to someone else, it will still be up to her and her uncle to get the bike where it is going, your not really circumventing anything.

Just keep her out of the transaction entirely. Tell her to have the uncle bid/BIN under his OWN ebay account. And have him pay you with his OWN paypal account. Don't let her win it and him pay for it. And make sure the registered addresses are the same on both the ebay and paypal accouts.
Ebay has instituted new policies that basically give all benefit of the doubt to buyers and paypal will freeze your funds in a N.Y minute as soon as a buyer says boo. No need to complicate things further by having 2 different people in 2 diff. countries' paypal/ebay accounts involved.

I have sold several items to overseas buyers and I can think of a couple ways you could get scammed in this deal if the Irish girl wins it and the uncle pays for it, or if she pays for it and the uncle takes delivery of it. Simply sell it to the uncle and let him take delivery. And make him buy insurance for it. If he's willing to ship it, he should be willing to start a paypal/ebay account if he doesn't already have one.

My boyfriend has been scammed a couple times by buyers, claiming the items were damaged and disputing the charges etc. Document everything you do w/ a big ticket item, I would even photograph how you packed it before you ship it. You never know when a buyer will try and screw you

Wow, hey thanks sailorman..that is what I am going to do..send her a pm telling her to get the uncle to register with paypal

sending overseas has always bugged me...and the auctions I have going on now have really drug out the overseas buyers..one guy begging over and over to let him bid on the Moulton I am selling...also I am getting a crop of overseas with 1 buy in their feedback also asking to ship to them overseas...the marcos track frame is really bringing them out..

it sux because if I would allow the overseas buyers to participate it would bring the price up

and I am sure getting fed up with policies of ebay and paypal, but they are the only game in town for selling bike related stuff

I tried craigs and that is as bad
