Giant Transend DX/LX/EX (please share your opinions)
Im searching for the ideal commuter bike for my needs.
I am narrowing down my choices to a Giant Transend (leaning towards the DX).
Please share your experiences with the bike.
My needs are the following.
1. Commute 5-miles each way in Northern California
2. Looking for a smooth and comfortable ride. Very important
3. A bike that can occasionally deal with the hills, potholes and rails in the streets of san Francisco.
4. A bike that can handle the rain well.
thanks

All three will fit the bill as they say, the price and components and the only big differences. The DX is priced the least. I looked at a LX with front and rear racks and trekking bars and it looks like it will make a good work bike that does just what you have described.
